Spoken Views Open Mic Night is starting again tonight (January 19th) @ The Studio on Vassar & S. Virginia above the Spy Shop next to India Kabob!!  Sign ups start at 7pm till the list fills or the open mic starts at 8pm.  It’s an open mic for anyone who thinks they can, whoever thinks they should, whoever has a voice–whomever has a story to tell! Come speak your point of view–or just listen–at Spoken Views Poetry Open Mic every 3rd Wednesday of every month.  Free for poets, $3 for the rest of us.  8pm @ The Studio.

Bobby Joe Ebola and the Children Macnuggits, The Secretions, and Thee Indoors

Holy crud!  The month of January has been jam packed with killer shows. Now here’s another for the list: Saturday, January 22. Satirical folk rock group Bobby Joe Ebola and the Children Macnuggits are coming through with the funk-punk rock ‘n rollers, The Secretions at the HPHQ. Oh yeah, and they’re playing with local super group Thee Indoors (e’s vary). This show is  going to be a way far out rad time, so GO! Info recap: January 22 at the HPHQ, doors at 7:30, show @ 8:00pm sharp.  $5!!!!!!!

Music+Film Workshop
3-Minute Film Competition is coming up sooner than you know it and this Music and Film Workshop with KNPB is a perfect opportunity to get started! This useful workshop will go over music licensing, public domain music and where to find it, sound editing techniques, and music composition for film. It is a super rad and affordable chance to get real inside information. Plus you’ll get a list of local musicians/bands willing to make or give you music for your films, tips for 3-Minute Film Competition and a tour of KNPB! It’s February 5th, at KNPB (1670 N. Virginia Street by UNR) 12pm $2!
