SUBMITTED NEWS RELEASE

redcrosslogo250-2079933-1718173At the request of the security guard and several tenants of the ACE Motor Lodge, the Northern Nevada Chapter, American Red Cross responded today to a power outage which impacted all the residents of this residential motel.

The Red Cross volunteer team arrived at the scene shortly after noon to determine the needs of the families who were impacted by the power outage which occurred at approximately 5AM today. The Red Cross has provided all residents with services which will meet their immediate disaster needs.

“The Red Cross is most appreciative of the support of NV Energy to ensure the residents have power for this evening. And, the security guard of the ACE Motor Lodge was most helpful in ensuring the Red Cross had access to all the residents to make sure their needs were being met,” stated Caroline Punches, Executive Director.

Financial donations will help the Red Cross provide emergency support to families who need to start over when they lose their homes due to fires or other emergencies. Donations can be directed to the American Red Cross, 1190 Corporate Blvd., Reno, NV 89502, by calling 775-856-1000 or online at www.nevada.redcross.org.

The American Red Cross shelters, feeds and provides emotional support to victims of disasters; supplies nearly half of the nation’s blood; teaches lifesaving skills; provides international humanitarian aid; and supports military members and their families. The Red Cross is a charitable organization — not a government agency — and depends on volunteers and the generosity of the American public to perform its mission. For more information, call 775-856-1000 or visit our website at www.nevada.redcross.org.
