SUBMITTED NEWS RELEASE
Don Gustavson (R-NV), a Nevada State legislator representing Assembly District 32, announced today that he was endorsing Sharron Angle (R-NV) for U.S. Senate in the upcoming Nevada Republican primary election. Gustavson, a conservative Republican, said the choice to replace Sen. Harry Reid is an easy one. “The candidates in this race are fine people, but the race to replace Harry Reid is much too important, and Nevada needs a proven rock-solid conservative like Sharron Angle that they can depend on to help clean up the mess in Washington D.C.”
Gustavson, a fifth-term lawmaker who currently seeks the District 2 State Senate seat being vacated by Senator Maurice Washington (R-NV), remembers Angle when she was first elected to the Nevada State Legislature.
“She was steadfast in her commitment to protect the taxpayers,” said Gustavson. “She did not come to Carson City to make friends with special interest groups–she came to make a difference, and her vote was never for sale. She was not self-serving; instead she was a devoted servant to the very constituents who elected her. I was proud to work side-by-side with her as we battled to hold the line against tax and fee increases and an over-bearing government.”
Angle valued Gustavson’s endorsement. “Assemblyman Gustavson is an admirable legislator; he is well known by his constituents as a proven fighter for lower taxes and smaller government. I profoundly share his conservative Reaganesque principals, and I am proud to call him a friend.”
