SUBMITTED NEWS RELEASE

Reno, Nev. — The Northern Nevada Chapter, American Red Cross will be honoring local heroes and ordinary citizens who have shown extraordinary courage at the seventh annual Red Cross Real Heroes Breakfast on Thursday, March 25, 2010, at 7:30 a.m. at Harrah’s in downtown Reno.

You can help the chapter identify those individuals, associations, or companies who have gone above and beyond to help a friend, family member, community member or complete stranger during 2009. Nomination forms can be downloaded from the chapter web site and will be accepted through January 22, 2010. A digital photograph must accompany each nomination.

Corporations are invited to support this uplifting event, which attracts more than 400 members of our community. Preferred sponsorships are available at this time. All proceeds from the event will be used to provide emergency relief to people who are displaced from their homes due to fire or other disasters, to teach lifesaving CPR skills and to provide support to the armed forces and their families.

Tickets to the event are $25 per person. Tables of eight are also available for purchase.

For more information about nominations, sponsorships or ticket sales, please contact the chapter office at 856-1000 or visit www.nevada.redcross.org.

The American Red Cross shelters, feeds and provides emotional support to victims of disasters; supplies nearly half of the nation’s blood; teaches lifesaving skills; provides international humanitarian aid; and supports military members and their families. The Red Cross is a charitable organization — not a government agency — and depends on volunteers and the generosity of the American public to perform its mission. For more information, call 775-856-1000 or visit our website at www.nevada.redcross.org.
