Lahontan

SILVER SPRINGS, Nev. — Drought conditions have contributed to a recent decrease in water levels at Lahontan Reservoir. The Silver Springs boat ramp is closed and the closure of the North Shore Marina boat ramp is anticipated this weekend.

Beach launching is permitted but requires the use of a 4-wheel drive vehicle. Beach launching should only be attempted with small, light weight boats and undertaken in sandy areas only. All areas with silt or mud should be avoided.

Decreasing reservoir levels continue to expose underwater hazards. Water skiing, wake boarding, wake surfing or other high speed activities are not advised. Use extreme caution when boating on Lahontan Reservoir and do so at your own risk.
