City of Reno officials and community members on Wednesday evening threw the switch to light this year’s Christmas Tree at City Plaza. The public tree lighting was a return to an in-person celebration after the 2020 lighting was live streamed due to the pandemic.

The event included performances by High Desert Harmony Chorus, Billinghurst Middle School and McQueen High School choirs, and Reno Philharmonic Orchestra musicians Olga Archedekin on violin and Marina Roznitovsky-Oster on harp.

Nevada Wolf Pack cheerleaders and mascots were also on hand to hype the crowd.

Check out photos from this year’s event.
