Dance

On Friday night, Artown presents Ailey II, a travelling repertory ensemble of modern dance. Ailey II is universally renowned for merging the spirit and energy of the country’s best young dance talent with the passion and creative vision of today’s most outstanding emerging choreographers. Dance Magazine calls Ailey II “second to none”, and The New York Times declares, “There’s nothing like an evening spent with Ailey II, the younger version of Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater.” The performance will be held at the Pioneer Center for the Performing Arts, 7:30pm-10pm. Limited tickets are still available online or at the box office.

On Sunday, join the Reno Tango Collective for their monthly event, Saint Tango Milonga, at The Saint. Every 4th Sunday of every month, get together to improve your technique AND have fun at the milonga! Stop in at 4:30 for a lesson in tango technique together with Fredy & Julia, instructors trained by Argentine maestros; they can assist you in your posture, walk and embrace. At 5:30, the floor opens up for dancing to a wonderful music selection at the milonga!
