Armed robbery at bank in Northwest Reno: public asked for leads

main_logo_sw-8939990-4375289At around 2:30 p.m., December 1, Reno Police Dispatch received a call of an armed robbery that had just occurred at the First Independent Bank, located at 6290 Sharlands Avenue in Northwest Reno.

As officers responded to the area, it was reported the suspect had left the bank with an undisclosed amount of money in a white passenger car.

The vehicle was located unoccupied a short time later, and responding Officers established a perimeter but did not locate the suspects.

After speaking with witnesses, they stated that the one male suspect who entered the bank was between 5’10” to 6 feet tall, and was wearing a dark colored hooded sweatshirt; some sort of dark mask over his face, dark colored pants and was armed with a handgun.

There was possibly another suspect driving the vehicle but that information has not been confirmed at this time.

Reno Police Department Robbery/Homicide Detectives are currently working with Northern Nevada Branch of the FBI on this case.
