WHAT: The Terry Lee Wells Nevada Discovery Museum, ‘The Discovery,’ a project seven years in the making, will open its doors to the northern Nevada community on Saturday, Sept. 10. Local dignitaries and invited guests will gather to celebrate the Grand Opening of the museum that is the first of its kind in downtown Reno. The Discovery serves children birth to 12 years with seven hands-on learning galleries which create an educational environment that encourages creativity and peaks imagination.
WHO: Mayor Bob Cashell will be joined by local dignitaries and special guests including chairman of the Terry Lee Wells Foundation, Dawn Wells.

ABOUT THE DISCOVERY: ‘The Discovery’ will inspire curiosity, creativity and the joy of lifelong learning for all children and families of northern Nevada. Upon opening, the museum will provide opportunities to discover science, art and local history through open-ended, interactive and fun exhibits and hands-on educational programs. Explore a cave, build a house, race across Nevada, and climb into the clouds — these are just some of the many adventures offered at The Discovery.
