The festival will feature national headliner Allen Stone and a local lineup including Whitney Myer, Jellybread and The Mark Sexton Band. The all-ages music festival will take place Saturday, September 14, in Wingfield Park in Reno from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. and will appeal to music lovers of all ages and walks of life. With all-day performances and activities, music lovers of all ages will enjoy the best of Reno arts and culture. Additionally, Giant Secret Music Festival will feature national touring musician Allen Stone. With his socially conscious lyrics and soulful composition, Stone describes himself as “a hippie with soul” and has been referred to by USA Today as a “pitch-perfect powerhouse.”

“Giant Secret is more than just a concert,” said Chari Smith, event organizer and qualified developmental disabilities professional. “With Giant Secret, we’ve created an event that really stands apart. This will be one giant, awesome event that will benefit a great organization as well as the City of Reno.”

As music festivals gain mainstream popularity across the country with events such as Bonarooo and Outside Lands, event organizers hope to expand the Reno arts and culture scene with the addition of this all-ages indie music festival.

“Our amazing staff is committed to the mission of providing top-of-the-line services to those in need. They work really hard with limited funds, ” said LaVonne Brooks, HSI – WARC Executive Director. “This festival will help us continue our import work of providing important services that are the best in the state.”

HSI – WARC has been supporting people with disabilities for over 96 years (collectively) and Giant Secret will help raise the funds necessary to keep up with the ever-increasing cost of providing services to some of the city’s most vulnerable citizens. With a system of innovative program services from employment training and placement, a day habilitation center, a pre-vocational job training center co-located with major customer and community partner International Game Technology, to 24-hour residential services, HSI – WARC is working to be one of Nevada’s leaders in providing services to people with disabilities.

HSI – WARC was founded in 1977 and 1953 respectively and are 501(c)3 non-profits that provide services to people with disabilities. HSI-WARC delivers a system of services including community employment, assessment and placement services, behavioral consultation, adult habilitation and pre-vocational day programs as well as 24-hour residential host homes, and other customized services.
