NEWS 4 NEWS RELEASE

Imagine being on the news from the comfort of your living room.  You can do that now, thanks to an innovative new show launched by KRNV News 4 in Reno, Nevada.

News 4’s Melissa Carlson anchors this interactive web show from the News 4 Studios.  The show incorporates Google Plus and “hangouts” with people from all over the world.

News 4 is the second news entity in the United States, after the University of Missouri, School of Journalism, to deploy this interactive news programming.

“In the evolution of the broadcast news industry, News 4 is taking the lead in launching this interactive approach and reinventing our newscasts,” said News 4 General Manager, Mary Beth Sewald.   “At News 4, our mission is to cover all sides of a story and many times our viewers have that insight.  Our community now has a voice in real time.  You can be part of the conversation, interact with people from all over the world and even offer your own ideas.”

News 4’s parent, Intermountain West Communications Company President and COO, Ralph Toddre says, “Our company is always looking for ways to better serve our communities and this is another example of the cutting edge news product we provide.”

To see News 4’s new Cyber Studio, go to www.mynews4.com Monday through Friday at 11 am or watch News 4 at Noon.  To be part of the conversation, join Google Plus and “include” News 4’s Melissa Carlson in your circle.
