A classic XTERRA offering breathtaking views and a challenging course.

XTERRA Lake Tahoe will put your fitness abilities to the test! Choose from Full Triathlon, Sprint, Full or Duathlon (run, bike only). The full triathlon includes the following distances with points being earned towards the XTERRA National Championship. For pricing details or to register online, click here:

  • Swim (1500 meters)
Racers start with a 1500 meter swim in famous Lake Tahoe, one of the purest and deepest lakes in North America.
  • Bike (22 miles)
The bike section tests racers’ climbing and fitness levels. The course starts on Tunnel Creek then transition to the well-known Flume Trail, which skirts the mountain side overlooking beautiful Lake Tahoe. Riders continue past Marlette Lake and down the rocky (and fast) Tahoe Rim Trail. Both the Duathlon and the Sprint distances complete the 22 mile bike ride that features about 4,000 of climbing. Are your legs burning yet?!
  • Run (6 miles)
After the biking section, racers transition onto a 10K trail running course that is relatively flat, fast and scenic with tall pines, aspens and creek crossings. Afterwards, stick around for an awards ceremony and a complimentary competitor barbecue.
