Wild and Scenic Film Festival
November 9, 2018 at 6:00 pm - 10:00 pm PST
Started in 2003 by SYRCL (South Yuba River Citizen’s League), the Wild & Scenic Film Festival on Tour captivates tens of thousands of people across the nation each year and is the largest festival of its kind in the United States. The festival is designed to promote community building as well as explore outdoor and environmental issues through the exciting medium of film. It creates a network of grassroots organizations that uses film to inspire activism.
The evening event features an art show, silent auction and raffle and no-host bar. Filmmakers will be present.
“This year we’re offering an exciting selection of adventurous, inspirational award-winning films about our natural world. With gorgeous cinematography and remarkable stories, inspiration will be contagious.” said Tom Clark, FBRHR Board President. “Enjoy great films, art and support efforts in the Black Rock Desert.”
The event takes place on the Third Floor of the hotel. Doors open at 6 p.m. with a no-host bar. Films start at 7 p.m. A special VIP reception will be held from 5-6 p.m. Tickets are available at REI and Patagonia in Reno, or online via blackrockdesert.org.
