Nevada Humanities Literary Crawl
September 14 at 11:00 am - 8:00 pm PDTFree
“Unabridged,” the sixth annual Nevada Humanities Literary Crawl is happening on Saturday, September 14 from 11 am until 8 pm along California Avenue and surrounding areas in Reno. The Literary Crawl is an exploratory event that brings residents of Reno together to celebrate, and be inspired by, the rich literary talent in our state. The Nevada Humanities Literary Crawl presents notable local, regional, and national authors at venues throughout downtown Reno, where they give readings of fiction, non‐fiction, and poetry. The day also includes writing workshops, panel discussions, art installations, and live performances. Access to all events is free, and all ages are welcome to participate at a variety of family-friendly readings and activities. Some venues are 21+.
Kiese Laymon, author of Heavy: An American Memoir, will kick off the Literary Crawl with the keynote address at noon at the Nevada Museum of Art in Reno (160 W Liberty Street). This event is free and open to the public, but tickets are required. For tickets, visit nevadaart.org.
The full list of participants and schedule for the 2019 Nevada Humanities Literary Crawl will be available on the Nevada Humanities website in early September and at participating venues the day of the Lit Crawl.
