Movies in the Park: Hoosiers

July 12 at 8:30 pm - 11:30 pm PDT

Free

Every Friday night in July, the Cordillera International Film Festival (CIFF) heads to Wingfield Park to celebrate the best in film. While the Northern Nevada based festival is honoring the 24-year tradition of bringing well-known classics to downtown Reno, they programmed a few surprises. The unexpected gems will be short films that screen before the feature length movies, and the “Secret Screening” that takes place on the last Friday in July.

This year’s schedule is a delightful blend of action-packed thrill rides, quirky cult classics and inspiring dramas. Movies start at 9:00 p.m., with movie-themed competitions taking place between 8:30 and 9:00 p.m. Weekly winners will receive tickets to the Cordillera International Film Festival, taking place July 25-28, 2019.

On Friday, July 12, they’ll root for the hometown team that needs a second chance at finishing first with Hoosiers. There will be nerf basketball hoops set up for attendees to show off their swooshing skills.

Movies in the Park is a free, non-ticketed event. Attendees are encouraged to pack a blanket or low-backed chair and bring a friend for a fun-filled evening under the stars. In addition to complimentary popcorn provided by The Outlets at Legends, they can grab a bite to eat from a variety of food trucks, purchase a movie-themed craft beer or cocktail and even pick up a tasty treat at the dessert booth.
