July 2 - August 18Free
Reno, Nev. (July 2, 2018) – If you are looking for a place to test your knowledge of the science, technology, engineering, art, math and history of carnival games, then Curiosity Carnival is the exhibition for you! This summer the Terry Lee Wells Nevada Discovery Museum (The Discovery) invites visitors to step right up and try your favorite carnival games while exploring probability, physics, motor skills and other astonishing concepts.
“Curiosity Carnival will transport guests of all ages to another place and time as they challenge their skills at the various interactive exhibits,” said Patrick Turner, VP of Marketing & Communications. “At first glance the games may seem simple, but in this exhibition you’ll learn why they’re never as easy as they seem.”
Fun, hands-on carnival games featured in the exhibition include Trick Shot, Plinko, Ring Toss, Wheels of Fortune, Fast Pitch, and more. All text in the exhibition is offered in English and Spanish.
In addition to the Curiosity Carnival exhibition, museum visitors can stop by Spark!Lab Smithsonian to explore the history of the American carnival; drop in to The Shop to design and build their own carnival games; and create carnival-inspired art in Art Alcove.
The museum-wide celebration of science and curiosity takes place through August 18, 2018. Visitwww.nvdm.org or more information.
