The Regional Transportation Commission of Washoe County is inviting community members to vote on the new Sierra Street Bridge design. Four design options with varying features are available for public input through Sept. 27.
“It’s important that the community has a direct impact on the look and feel of this bridge,” said Bryan Byrne, RTC project manager. “We are committed to creating a bridge that reflects the character of our city.”
Residents can vote by visiting www.sierrastreetbridge.com and using the “Build-A-Bridge” feature.
Josh MacEachern with RTC stressed the importance of public involvement. “Not only is it fun for the community, but it gives RTC great input on a project that will be a landmark in our city for decades,” he said.
The Sierra Street Bridge Replacement Project aims to create an iconic structure that will serve as the city’s focal point, officials said.
