Reno’s top events this week include numerous opportunities to learn new skills as well as to support the arts and local music. The Holland Project is hosting a reception for a new exhibit of Black, Indigenous and People of Color artists working with a variety of media. The “Off The Rails” music fest also continues with the Jeff Crosby band.

And when they put their rockin’ spin on classic R&B hits. Expect the greatest grooves from legends like Ray Charles, Stevie Wonder and Diana Ross. Friday at the Reno Public Market. 
  4. High Noon with Neal Cobb Summer Series: Learning About Nevada. Live on Facebook and Zoom, the Nevada Historical Society is hosting al history series that delves into fascinating Nevada topics with local experts. This week is Chris Orr, who has traveled throughout the Silver State as one of the co-hosts and producers of the PBS Reno television series, Wild Nevada. Thursday online.
  5. Sensitive People Improv Show. Reno Improv’s longest running team, Sensitive People, takes the stage with an improv form called The Living Room. True tales from the cast inspire improvised scenes and original characters.
