A second Washoe County Library will soon close for renovations. The Sparks Branch Library on 12th Street will close Dec. 16 and won’t reopen until April of next year.
Reno’s Northwest Library closed Oct. 25 for renovations, planned for completion in February 2022.
Library officials said the Sparks branch “is being upgraded to meet the modern needs of its community,” which includes improvements to furniture, fixture and equipment as well as access improvements.
The building is one of Washoe County Library System’s oldest having opened in 1964.
Library users can visit washoecountylibrary.us/libraries to find alternate branch locations to transfer hold items and return library materials.
