Visit Carson City helps launch a new experiences app, MOPO, for Nevada Day Weekend (sponsored)

MOPO intelligently matches users with activities and events based on their passions and values.

CARSON CITY, Nev. – Wondering what to do in your free time? A new experiences app, MOPO, aims to answer this question for its users by recommending area activities and events, all based on a user’s specific values and interests. As one of MOPO’s foundational partners, Visit Carson City is helping launch the app throughout the Nevada Day celebrations.

By partnering with MOPO, Visit Carson City is able to offer both visitors and locals alike a next-generation mobile solution featuring an extensive library of local activities, events and content. MOPO’s AI-driven personalization technology enables consumers to discover experiences that are just right for them, and local businesses to expand their base of new, qualified customers. The app’s built-in social network for experiences allows users to connect and engage with others around the things they care about.

“We built MOPO for people to discover things to do where they live or visit.”

Through the end of October, users who download the app via a dedicated link on the Visit Carson City website or social media posts will have access to a curated suite of Nevada Day content with all the latest information on the weekend’s events and activities, including start times and locations, lists of suggested activities, participating businesses and more.

The app’s social feed will enable users to share information and photos, and see what others are saying and doing. Local businesses can also join the platform, free of charge, to showcase their activities.

“As a destination market with strong community ties, we’re thrilled to be getting in on the ground floor of this free new experiences app,” David Peterson, executive director of Visit Carson City, said. “MOPO is a different kind of recreation app, breaking new ground. We think their innovative approach will bring great benefits to both our visitors and the local community we serve. It showcases the wide breadth of activities and events that our region has to offer in a user-friendly, personalized way.”

Another draw for Visit Carson City to the MOPO platform was the platform’s commitment to area culture. In fact, MOPO has a dedicated team that specifically represents community and cultural organizations to ensure they are accurately represented across the app. They worked directly with the leadership at Stewart Indian School Cultural Center & Museum to upload the audio tour on the app and also to ensure accurate descriptions and imagery.

“We are thrilled to partner with Visit Carson City, and to launch our flagship product there, during the Nevada Day celebrations,” Martin Hall, Founder and CEO of MOPO, said. “We built MOPO for people to discover things to do where they live or visit, whether they’re seeking simple fun or something deeply meaningful. We think our approach – leveraging AI to deliver personalized results and an integrated social network to drive connection – will become the industry standard, both for consumers seeking experiences and businesses trying to reach them.”
