Washoe inmates get weekly virtual visitation

Date:

Inmates at the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office Detention Facility will receive one free weekly video visit with someone off-site starting next week. The changes are the result of social distancing precautions at the facility due to COVID-19 and only permit family visitations to be conducted remotely.

Every person in custody will receive one free 20-minute remote visit per week, provided by iWebVisit.com. Usually video visitations are only free when they are conducted on site.

The free off-site visits will be available May 4-31 and must be scheduled one day in advance.

Visitors can set up an account, test their equipment and schedule a visit at www.iWebVisit.com. For more detailed information, visit the Sheriff’s Office website at https://www.washoesheriff.com/sub.php?page=inmate-visiting-information
