Reno Seed Fund and Sierra Innovations Entrepreneur Fund Come Together to Invest in New Business Text Messaging Startup, SnapDesk
For the first time ever, the Reno Seed Fund (RSF), and the Sierra Innovations Entrepreneur Fund (SIEF)-managed by the Sierra Angels of Incline Village- have come together to invest in Reno-based, business text messaging startup SnapDesk.
SnapDesk aims to revolutionize business communications and text messaging for the 21st century. Business leaders throughout the nation have long sought a smarter way to talk to customers. Because their customers overwhelmingly prefer text messaging, SnapDesk provides communications tools that schedule pre-set text messages, text entire customer-bases and automate invoices and payment reminders via text message. This joint pre-seed investment further accelerates SnapDesk’s growth and helps position them in the business communications market as the day-to-day text messaging solution for business.
“Economic development organizations like the RSF, SIEF and EDAWN propel business and help grow our economy locally by empowering entrepreneurs like us. We’re excited to expand our team and we’re thrilled for the opportunity to work with these organizations who believe in and assist startups like ours in the Reno area,” said Clint Vernon, CEO of SnapDesk. “The tech we’re building with SnapDesk helps businesses thrive and proves that local innovation exists; that these ideas enrich our economy, and that they’re viable for investment.”
Investors and economic development authorities agree. “The RSF is proud to provide both local investor support, advice and local enterprise customer relationships to SnapDesk.” Said Gene Wong, RSF Managing Partner.
The RSF, SIEF and the Economic Development Authority of Western Nevada (EDAWN) are all highly active resources and guides for entrepreneurs throughout Northern Nevada. Investment and engagement with startups and companies like SnapDesk reinforces a shared belief in entrepreneurship and economic diversification. This joint investment in SnapDesk confirms that Northern Nevada produces innovation across a variety of industries, including tech, and that these locally produced ideas are viable for investment.
About SnapDesk
SnapDesk is a Business-to-Business (B2B), SaaS company that integrates directly with various accounting, contact management, and CRM applications to provide users with Application-to-Person (A2P) business text messaging tools. The inspiration and know-how behind Snapdesk began with Clint and Cory Vernon’s Grandmother. She was a savvy businesswoman who founded a housekeeping company in 1989 and that company is still going strong today. She understood how to make money and get the job done. SnapDesk now works from the perspective that if she couldn’t intuitively use and see value in an app, then it wasn’t worth using. SnapDesk is designed to meet the needs of business owners, like her.
