Framing the 51st season with some of Beethoven’s most recognized early and late works, virtuosic pianist, Sara Davis Buechner, joins the Reno Phil Orchestra for Beethoven’s Concerto No. 1. Buechner is considered one of the most original pianists of modern time and is noted for her command and artistry.

“I love this piece because it has in it all the kernels of what makes Beethoven who he is. You’ll experience his simplicity, the genius of surprise, and thrilling technical virtuosity that is displayed by the concerto soloist and the orchestra,” said Music Director and Conductor, Laura Jackson.

The performance will conclude with Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 4, a work that expresses the composer’s battle with fate and is known to take the audience on a dramatic and compelling journey.

“Tchaikovsky’s fourth symphony is near and dear to my heart because this is the very first piece I did with the Reno Philharmonic,” said Jackson. “Actually, during my audition concerts, this is the symphony where I remember falling in love with the Philharmonic.”

Doors open at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday and 2:30 p.m. on Sunday. Tickets start at $29.00. Visit www.RenoPhil.com or call (775) 323-6393 to purchase tickets and to view available seating.
