The Regional Transportation Commission is continuing construction on Virginia Street. Starting Monday, September 30, operations will advance north of the current construction area near Vassar Street to Center Street.

“As construction on Virginia Street moves northward, the road will be open to southbound-only traffic between Center Street and Regency Way,” said RTC spokesperson Lauren Ball. “Two-way traffic will remain in place on Virginia Street south of Regency Way and north of Center Street.”

Northbound traffic will be detoured at Regency Way. RTC plans to reopen the segment of construction on Virginia Street from Mt. Rose Street to Plumb Lane back to two-way traffic in November.

The entire project is expected to be finished in the winter of 2020, depending upon the weather.
