The Downtown Reno Library is scheduled to be closed next week because public spaces are being remodeled, according to Washoe County.

Closure dates are Aug. 26 to 30, although holds for pick-up will be available on site, 300 S. Center St., from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

“These improvements are part of an ongoing effort by the Washoe County Library System to ensure a first-class library system to all our residents,” the library system released in a statement.  “The Washoe County Library System appreciates the community’s support during this process, and we apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.”

The downtown branch is expected to reopen Aug. 31 for regular hours.

Hours at other Washoe County libraries remain unchanged during this time frame.
