Water Quality Report for 2019 Now Available

Date:

The Truckee Meadows Water Authority (TMWA) recently released its annual water quality report, as required by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

The report, based on data collected in 2018, has information about the source of TMWA’s drinking water and how it compares to drinking water standards established by the EPA.

There are separate reports on utilities operated by TMWA: Lighting W, Old Washoe Estates, Stampmill, and Sunrise Estates.

“At TMWA, we take pride in the high-quality water delivered to our customers,” said General Manager Mark Foree. “The Water Quality Report is a welcome opportunity to show the stringent safety standards that our staff adheres to in ensuring high-quality water on a daily basis.”

Water quality information about individuals neighborhoods is also available by using the online map-based reference tool.

Sample data is updated monthly for turbidity, pH, chlorine residual, hardness, and arsenic.

TMWA conducts more than 1,000 laboratory tests every month on more than 180 samples taken from various locations throughout its distribution system.
