Annual Summer Music & Watermelon Series Getting Underway at UNR

Summer concerts on the Quad, which come with free watermelon, are scheduled to start this week at the University of Nevada, Reno.

Sponsored in part by the Nevada Alumni Association, the weekly events are scheduled from 6 to 8 p.m. the next six Wednesdays on the campus’ Historic Quadrangle. Other activities include a bounce house for children and a face painting booth.

The musical line-up is as follows:

  • July 10 – Jelly Bread, rock
  • July 17 – Westwind, bluegrass
  • July 24 – Tim Snider, violinist and vocalist
  • July 31 – The Novelists, folk and pop
  • Aug. 7 – Whitney Myer, soul
  • Aug. 14 – Beatles Flashback
