Washoe County Regional Animal Services has scheduled a health and microchipping clinic in Sun Valley for pets and their owners on May 4.
The event is from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Sun Valley Community Park, 115 W. Sixth Avenue, and consists of low-cost vaccinations and dog licenses, along with free microchipping.
A veterinarian will be on hand to provide the following shots:
- Distemper/Parvo and rabies vaccinations for dogs $10 each
- Bordetella (kennel cough) booster vaccinations for dogs $20 each
- Viral rhinotracheitis, calicivirus and panleukopenia (FVRCP) and rabies vaccinations for cats $10 each
Dog licenses are $8 if they’re spayed or neutered and $20 if they’re not. Dogs 4 months and older must be licensed.
Pet owners are asked to bring their dogs in a carrier or on a regular leash, not a retractable one, and for cats to be in a carrier.
Microchipping is also available weekdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Regional Animal Services, 2825 Longley Lane, Reno.
Next month’s low-cost vaccination clinic is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 8 at Paradise Park, 2660 Carville Drive, Reno.
