Our Center, an LGBTQ community center, celebrated it third anniversary yesterday. Jeromy Manke, president of the Our Center Board, spoke with me about plans for the future.

Manke said that Our Center is launching an expansion to their senior programming this May. Our Center, three years on, still welcomes new members who often learn about Our Center though their outreach programs.

Our Center is also looking to expand its youth outreach and has brought on new board members to help beef up their programming.

In April of 2018, the community center was attacked, but Manke said other than a few protesters, no threats have been directed at Our Center since.

Our Center will also be partnering with the Nevada Museum of Art to host the Outwest Film Fest this May 18-19, 2019. On May 23rd they will also hosting Aging with Pride, a 50-plus LGBTQ event.
