Dermody Properties’ CEO and Chairman Michael C. Dermody: The importance of giving back

Date:

In this video, Dermody Properties’ CEO and Chairman Michael C. Dermody explains the importance of giving back and the impact that the gifts from the Dermody Properties Foundation and the Annual Dermody Properties Capstone Awards have on the communities in which the company does business.

Dermody Properties, based in Reno, is a national, privately-owned logistics real estate investment, development and management company. The Dermody Properties Foundation, created in 1988, is entirely employee-directed, and funds worthy non-profits through the hard work and profits created by Dermody Properties’ team members. The Dermody Properties Foundation has donated more than $3 million over the past 30 years to nonprofits locally and across the nation. The Foundation supports organizations that focus on the arts, education and the family, with special emphasis on children, the elderly, the disabled, substance abuse and the homeless.

Over the last three decades, the Dermody Properties Foundation has benefitted hundreds of nonprofits and causes across the country. Each of these organizations go above and beyond to help those in need, and Dermody Properties is proud to support them and their critical efforts.

Dermody Properties also created a special means of giving back in 2008, at the height of the Great Recession. They created the Annual Holiday Capstone Award to help non-profit organizations address the increased need they experience during the holidays.

For Dermody Properties, giving back to the communities they serve is a vital part of their mission, philosophy and vision for the future.
