CARSON CITY — Vice Admiral Lee Gunn, U.S. Navy (retired), Vice Chairman of the CNA Military Advisory Board, presented key findings of the CNA report “National Security and Assured U.S. Electrical Power” to the Nevada Assembly’s Growth and Infrastructure Committee on Thursday, March 21, 2019, as part of his three day series of meetings with government agencies, legislators, media, and national security advocates, facilitated by the National Security Forum of Northern Nevada.

The CNA’s Military Advisory Board is an elite group of retired three- and four-star flag and general officers from the Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marine Corps that studies pressing issues of the day to assess their impact on America’s national security.

“Admiral Gunn’s message on the need to improve the resilience of our electric grid and reduce risks to our local and national economies was well received by all with whom he met on this visit to Nevada,” said Dr. Maureen McCarthy, Program and Commentary Chair of the National Security Forum of Northern Nevada. “We appreciate in particular the interest of the legislators who are looking to accelerate the use of clean energy, distributed, generation, and electric transportation–policies which help address the concerns highlighted by Admiral Gunn.”
