If wassailing and caroling are your holiday jam, but you don’t really like walking around in the cold, head over to Ceol Irish Pub on Friday, December 14th at 8 pm for the 4thannual “Caroling for a Cause.”

Enjoy some brews and holiday tunes while testing your singing skills. Proceeds will benefit the homeless, as well as underprivileged children in Northern Nevada, through the “Caroling for a Cause” and the Committee to Aid Abused Women Family Shelter. Also on Friday, Sierra Tap House will be hosting an Ugly Sweater Holiday Party with a canned food drive – wear your ugliest holiday gear and bring down some cans to benefit Reno-Sparks Gospel Mission. Saturday, December 15this a big day for the holiday spirit in downtown Reno: From 2 pm to 5 pm is the annual Ugly Sweater Wine Walk, featuring an Instagram ugly sweater selfie contest and of course, wine. To learn more, visit their site at http://www.renoriver.org

Starting at 3 pm, West Street Market will be taken over by the Wyld and Jolly Holiday Market, featuring hand crafted gifts and holiday cheer.

For the late night crowd, the Reno Santa Pub Crawl gets underway at 7:30p. Featuring drink specials, free covers, and contests at 34 downtown and midtown bars, this annual event is a big draw for locals and tourists alike. Check out the details at http://renosantacrawl.com/.

If you’re looking for a something a little more nostalgic in the countdown to Christmas, local jazz trio, The Peanuts Gang, presents their yearly tribute to Vince Guaraldi’s music for the classic Christmas special. They will be playing at Rum Sugar Lime from 8 pm to 10 pm on Wednesday, December 19th; they will take over Jazz Night at The Loving Cup on Thursday the 20that 8:30 pm.

Saturday night, legendary guitarist Charlie Hunter will be at The Saint from 7 pm to 10 pm in a limited seating event. 

Seminal LA punk rocker, Eddie Subtitle is releasing his newest Eddie and the Subtitles album, also on Saturday night, at Shea’s Tavern, starting at 8 pm, with Saturday Knights and Okay Urge opening.

On Sunday afternoon, Kid Rocker and the Holland Project present the Kid Rocker All Stars, young reno musicians presenting their first songs in their first bands. This fun filled event begins at 5 pm. 

Later that night , you can catch recording artist Felly at Jub Jub’s Thirst Parlor. The “Surf Trap Tour” is an all-ages event, featuring supporting performances from Gyyps and Trip Carter. For advance tickets or info, check out https://www.facebook.com/events/419767288552030/

Art/Culture

Mantra Glass and Art invites you to join them for a Live Glass Blowing Holiday Party and Open House. This holiday event will celebrate their newly finished studio at 651 E. 4thSt., from 12 pm to 5 pm on Saturday December 15th. Tickets are available to create your own glass art at the event, as well as demonstrations, and information on classes and custom glass pieces. 

Reno Art Works is hosting a Tiny Tuesday Holiday Shopping event. Enjoy hot chocolate and cookies while browsing unique gifts of locally made art and chatting with artists-in-residence. The event will run 6p-8p on Tuesday, December 18th.
