Police Seek Answers in Homeless Woman’s Murder

The Reno Police Department identified today the woman found dead near train tracks and East Fourth Street on Sunday.

Melinda Tucker, 30, was homeless but from the Reno area. She was found Sunday at about 2 pm.

“The homicide is being investigated by the Reno Police Department’s Robbery / Homicide Division,” said Sergeant Colby Palmer. “Detectives are seeking to speak to anyone who knew the victim or had spent any time with her in this area, specifically within the last two weeks.”

Police said that the investigation is ongoing and people may call RPD directly or submit tips anonymously to Secret Witness.

There is a $2500 reward through Secret Witness for information leading to the arrest of person(s) involved in Tucker’s murder.
