Editor’s note: This Is Reno would like to thank the businesses and organizations that have been supportive of us in the recent past. To say thanks, we offered our ongoing advertisers space to introduce themselves to the other fine folks who keep our operation alive and growing — you, our readers. We’ll be running these features throughout December. Thank you for your support. – Bob

What is Goodstanding?

GoodStanding is a public involvement and outreach practice for organizations that provide service to our community. We strategically craft communication plans and steward processes to maximize public education and customer engagement levels.   The outcome of our work results in community relationships that are based on common understandings, trust and recognition of the contributions our clients make to our region.

What is your business most proud of in recent years?

Most recently, our work is focused on elevating the understanding around   water issues in our community.  Our related Smart About Water initiative is the platform we’ve created to engage with other agencies and leaders in the Truckee Meadows. One feature of this initiative is the Smart About Water day, timed after the annual Sierra snowpack measurements are finalized.  The event allows anyone interested in issues around water to get answers directly from the subject matter experts.

A source of pride for us has been our long-standing relationship with the Veterans Guest House which just this fall had a very successful ground breaking and opening of a $4+ million expansion, located right here in Reno.  It’s rewarding to see how much the community supports this great cause.

Finally, we’ve always been committed to our community and giving back.  We have a long legacy of downtown projects, the most recent being the Rotary Club of Reno Sculpture Garden in downtown Reno.  The idea that propelled this project was to revitalize this area, and it looks like its working.  More people are enjoying Bicentennial Park. And, it was recognized last fall with a Business & Arts Award from EDAWN. Stay tuned for the next instalment of sculptures.

Why should people support or patronize you?

When it comes to communication, we always stay one step ahead to anticipate the end result on behalf of our clients.  Positive, long-lasting outcomes are never a one-sided effort which is why our clients’ stakeholders (customers, employees and external partners) must always be a part of the process.  There is an undeniable synergy when the exchange of thoughts, opinions, ideas and dialogue are shared with community benefit in mind.  We seek long-term partnerships that recognize this truth, and we offer the long-term benefit that comes with committing to these principles.

What are you most proud of?

We are proud of the level of confidence we have established with our clients, as well as the level of responsiveness we maintain with our community media sources.  We constantly look toward the role of accuracy and truth and that fuels a level of trust with clients, the media and the community that only becomes proven with time.  This is our most valuable   asset, we build upon it every day, and it is the legacy of our work that is larger than ourselves.

How can people get ahold of you?
