Children in the Volunteers of America family shelter will be performing a holiday showcase on December 21 at 6 p.m. at Destiny Christian Center located at 255 Bell Street.
The event is free, open to the public and will include hot chocolate and desserts. Santa will also be in attendance and available for children to meet and take pictures.
This special event is the product of the Volunteers of America “Kid’s Take Center Stage.” The drama and theater workshop has been led by Miss Virginia City 2018, Nasya Hannah Mancini, for six years.
The production and workshop are possible thanks to a partnership with TheatreWorks of Northern Nevada and the Mancini Family. Doors will open at 5:30 PM. Donations are accepted.
Volunteers of America provides each day emergency shelter, transitional housing, affordable housing, case management, and resources for more than 1,000 men, women, and children, including seniors, veterans, and the mentally ill.
