Four Washoe County Library locations will have new, expanded hours starting January 7, 2019.
The Washoe County Library System’s Board of Trustees approved recently increased hours at three branches, including the restoration of 7-day service to the Downtown Reno Library.
More changes include opening one half-hour earlier on Wednesdays at the Duncan/Traner Community Library and expanding Tuesday evening hours at Incline Village. The Sierra View Library will no longer offer service on Sundays, but will have expanded Monday hours to meet the demand for library services.
Library Director Jeff Scott said that he is optimistic that these new hours will better serve the community.
“The changes allow the library to concentrate services during those hours in which the libraries are in greatest demand,” he said. “The changes to hours will also provide for expanded programming and services to our community. We are pleased that the Trustees approved the revised public hours and expand access at strategically located libraries.”
