Performing the best of the Great American Song Book from Cole Porter to Joni Mitchell, the 17-piece Reno Jazz Orchestra will share the stage with 8-Time GRAMMY jazz-vocalist nominee Tierney Sutton in Reno and Lake Tahoe this Labor Day Weekend.

Known as a ‘serious jazz artist who takes music to another level,’ Sutton’s award-winning style will complement the veteran talents of the Reno Jazz Orchestra whose members have traveled the world with legendary performers.

The performances are scheduled in Reno at the Whitney Peak Hotel’s Cargo Concert Hall on Aug. 31 and Sand Harbor State Park in Incline Village on Sept. 1. Tickets can be purchased at RenoJazzOrchestra.org or by calling 775-372-6160.

“Don’t miss this swinging night of big band jazz and enduring songs spiced with Tierney Suttons’ charisma,” said Chuck Reider, music director for the Reno Jazz Orchestra. “She embraces the American songbook by interpreting them in her own unique way making them her own. “

The Reno Jazz Orchestra is a 17-piece contemporary big band based in Northern Nevada. The band was formed in 1997 by musicians who have performed with acts such as Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr., Elvis Presley, Natalie Cole and Luciano Pavarotti. Members have traveled with the likes of Woody Herman, Stan Kenton, Ray Charles, Buddy Rich, and Buddy Morrow.
