PHOTOS: Canine Companions Holds “Pool Pawty” at Idlewild

Date:

Canine Companions for Independence, Animal Emergency Center and the City of Reno hosted on Sunday a “Pool Pawty” at Idlewild pool.

Participants paid $15 dollars, with all proceeds going to Canine Companions for Independence. The event was limited to 100 dogs and participants numbered about 90.

Dogs all ages, sizes, and breeds filled Idlewild pool. Tennis balls, provided by the event, were tossed by their owners so their canine companions would play fetch into the water.

Not all dogs were eager to jump in. Some needed more convincing or decided that the real fun was running next to the pool with other dogs.

While the event had a set “free swim” period the beginning of the event, large and small dogs were split into respectively sized pools.

The event’s main goal, other than a fun day out, was to raise awareness for Canine Companions for Independence and the upcoming DogFest Reno. Get details on that event.
