PHOTOS: Bandaloop Opens Artown With Stunning Visual Performance

Date:

The East Bay Area performance group Bandaloop opened Artown’s month-long annual arts festival last night. The performers dangled and danced from City Hall downtown with three performances.

The group describes itself as celebrating “the human spirit, nature, and communities through dance that uses climbing technology to expand and challenge what is possible.”

The 6:30 p.m. act by the group was stunning and breathtaking as the dancers gracefully propelled against the side of the building in collaborative, gravity defying dance to two different techno tunes.

“Bandaloop has performed on architectural landmarks and skyscrapers around the world including in São Paulo, Mumbai, Seoul, Soweto, Verona, Lisbon, Muscat, Atlanta, Houston, New York, and other urban centers,” according to the group’s website.
