The Rip City Riders Nevada, Rip City Riders Oregon and Rip City Riders California, (chapters of the San Francisco Area- based motorcycle club and 501(c)(3) non-profit) have chosen to partner with fellow non-profit Ronald McDonald House Charities® Northern Nevada (RMHC® Northern Nevada) for the 5th Annual Summer Charity run on Saturday, June 9,2018. Riders will meet in front of the Grand Sierra at 10 a.m. and ride out at 11 a.m. to tour northern Nevada, returning at 1 p.m. to the Lucky Beaver Sports Bar in Reno for a barbecue lunch, entertainment, poker run and raffles. Proceeds will support RMHC® Northern Nevada, which houses families with children in local hospitals.

“We take great pride in knowing that our efforts actually keep families together during seemingly impossible times,” said Kyle Habberstad, vice president for Rip City Riders Nevada. “The house, and everyone that helps make all the magic happen, are absolutely incredible.”

The Annual Summer Charity run is the Rip City Riders largest fundraiser. Founded in 2014, the Rip City Riders is a group of motorcycle enthusiasts unassociated with motorcycle clubs, consisting of everyday people who share a love for riding and supporting their communities. This year, the group has rebuilt a 1985 Harley Davidson FXRP motorcycle and will raffle it to help the charity.

“We’re proud our organization is able to serve so many families,” said Brock Marquez, interim executive director for RMHC® Northern Nevada. “But our ability to serve would be capped without our partners, Rip City Riders in particular. This is an amazing collection of guys who just want to leave their community better than they found it.”

Individuals do not need to be members in order to participate in the run. Riders should RSVP on Facebook, then sign-in at the Grand Sierra Resort June 9 at 10:00 a.m. The first riders will head out at 11 a.m. Tickets for the run are $25 per person, with a poker hand and lunch included. Lunch tickets for non-riders are $10. Riders will end at the Lucky Beaver Sports Bar where lunch will be served and cash prizes for the best and worst poker hands will be given. Raffle tickets will also be sold for $5 a ticket for the 1985 FXRP Harley Davidson motorcycle.

Registration and ticket sales will take place the morning of June 9 at the Grand Sierra from 8 to 10 a.m. To register, please visit the Rip City Rider’s Facebook event page.  For additional information or media inquiries, email Rachel Gattuso at [email protected] or call (775) 322-4663.
