PHOTO GALLERY: Reno-Tahoe Odyssey Saturday at Idlewild Park

Dozens of runners finished the 178-mile Reno-Tahoe Odyssey Saturday at Idlewild park.

The relay run goes from Reno to Lake Tahoe and then back to Reno, covering a 178-mile loop through Truckee, Tahoe, Carson City, and Virginia City. It begins at Wingfield Park downtown and ends at Idlewild Park.

The course comprises 36 legs, or segments, with each segment covering about 5 miles. The event is held each year the Friday and Saturday after Memorial Day weekend.

As exhausted runners completed the last leg of the race, nearing the finish line, they were joined by their teammates, who, unlike the runners, were refreshed and celebratory. Check out the photographs below.
