A collection of esteemed chefs, food trucks and adult beverage purveyors will set up at Toll Brothers’ Regency at Damonte Ranch on June 27, 2018, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. as part of Yelp’s Home Away from Home benefiting Ronald McDonald House Charities® Northern Nevada (RMHC® Northern Nevada or the Reno Ronald McDonald House®). The event is in its second year and organizers are prepared to welcome more than 1,000 members of the community to the luxury model home park, where attendees will learn how the charity provides a home-away-from-home for families who have a child receiving critical treatment at an area hospital.

Co-organized by Yelp Reno and RMHC® Northern Nevada, the free event will showcase recipes crafted by nine of the region’s top chefs and caterers that evoke memories of their homes and families. Yelp’s Home Away from Home is designed to be an exploratory experience, so participants can walk the park to encounter nine warm, welcoming environments, similar to what guests of RMHC® Northern Nevada experience at the charity during their child’s hospitalization. The first 1,000 individuals will receive a commemorative cookbook so they can recreate the recipes featured at the event when they go home. They will discover photo albums in the homes that share personal stories of families who have stayed at the Reno Ronald McDonald House in years past.

Participants will also encounter high-end vehicles from Nissan of Reno, lounge seating from Celebrations! Party Rentals, music from Do Well Events and have the chance to win one of two $500 gift cards as part of a Dream Closet Giveaway from Dillard’s.

The ninth home will be occupied by Whole Foods Market Reno, which donated ingredients to the chefs to cook the featured recipes for the guests of RMHC® Northern Nevada as part of the charity’s Chef Program (wherein volunteers prepare meals for guests staying at the House). In the street, attendees will find the Aloha Shack food truck, the Ceol Pub Truck, Lolea Sangria and boutique wedding pop-up service The Hytch. Servers from Monaco Cocktails and Shine Bartenders will be pouring libations.

Additional sponsors making this event possible include: Alice 96.5, ANI Building Solutions, Blanchard, Krasner & French, LLC., Dickson Realty, KRXI FOX 11, Marcello Rostogni Photography, NV Energy, Toll Brothers, Inc., Aloha Shack, Breakthru Beverage, Mix Bakeshop, TapSnap 1156, Pitch Black Printing, Dillard’s, Do Well Events, Flux Media, ThisIsReno, edible Reno-Tahoe and RC Willey.

Those interested must RSVP through Yelp Reno at bit.ly/yelpcomfort18. Attendees must be 21 years of age or older and are encouraged to make a $20 donation at the event check-in to support RMHC® Northern Nevada.
