Clint Koble is the grandson of immigrants who homesteaded in North Dakota. His large family worked long, hard days in search of a better life. Thanks to his parents, Clint learned the values of family, hard work and integrity.
Clint and his siblings wore hand-me-down clothes, attended a two-room country school and either raised their food or hunted for it. With little money, the family of blue-collar Democrats learned to count its pennies and live within its means. The first in his family to graduate with a university degree, Clint moved to Nevada in 1985 and continued his career.
Most notably, Clint was appointed by President Obama as State Executive Director of the U. S. Department of Agriculture Farm Service Agency (FSA), a position he held for nearly 8 years. During his tenure, Clint aided many farmers and ranchers survive the drought and remain on their family operations. Through aggressive outreach, Clint increased Native American participation in USDA programs.
Earlier, Clint served as Executive Director of the Nevada Rural Development Council (NRDC), where he helped many rural towns complete strategic plans. This collaborative process involved listening to hundreds of Nevada citizens.
Also at NRDC, Clint served part-time for the Nevada Small Business Development Center (SBDC) helping rural Nevadans create and flourish in small businesses. Clint remains at the SBDC as its rural business advisor, creating jobs and small businesses throughout rural Nevada.
Having lived in Reno since 1991 and having worked in rural Nevada for the past 12 years, Clint has developed a keen understanding of urban and rural Nevada concerns. Clint is a graduate of the Reno Citizens Institute, a 10-week session on the major departments of the City.
Clint is honored to live in Nevada and to have met so many of the state’s citizens. If elected to Congress, he pledges to listen to all Nevadans and take your views to Washington. We have many issues to solve; Clint is ready to take them head on.
