A sprawling workshop and exhibition complex being planned by The Generator maker space near downtown is one step closer to reality.
The Reno City Council on Wednesday unanimously approved a resolution that transfers ownership and management of two parcels of land near the Wells Avenue overpass east of downtown (site of the future Generator arts complex) to the Reno Redevelopment Agency.
The passage of the resolution clears the way for the agency to issue a lease to The Generator to begin construction of the complex, which is expected to take five years to build.
The actual lease agreement between The Generator and Redevelopment Agency will be discussed at a later date.
