Standard Management Company (SMC) wants to give their time to volunteering in the local community. Staff members from both their Reno and Las Vegas properties took part in volunteering with Habitat for Humanity in the month of January and will continue into February. The team is donating their time, rather than monetary funds, to help build homes, communities, and hope for those in need.

“We are looking forward to this opportunity to volunteer with an admirable organization that works to empower others,” said Tony Kuper, Director of Residential Operations at SMC. “Often times it is easier for companies to donate money, which helps, but we know skills and time can be very valuable to non-profits that are short on both. The Standard Management Company team is excited to give their time volunteering in their local communities.”

Today more than ever people are unable to afford suitable homes for their families. Last year, it was reported by the National Alliance to End Homelessness that over half a million people in the U.S. were experiencing homelessness. Standard Management Company wants to give back to those who are facing this hardship.

Driven by the vision that everyone needs a safe and affordable place to live, Habitat for Humanity is building and improving homes for people in need. The organization has grown to become a leading global nonprofit working in nearly 1,400 communities throughout the U.S. and in more than 70 countries around the globe.

“Standard Management Company is volunteering with Habitat for Humanity to help families achieve the strength, stability, and self-reliance they need to build better lives,” said Steven Cohen, President of SMC. “Their mission is in line with what we do, providing a place people can call home. We want to do all that we can to help build and improve a place a family in need can call home.”

Standard Management Company’s mission is to deliver superior returns for real estate investors. They do this through active management of their existing portfolio; acquisition of existing income property or origination of short term loans secured by real estate in California and neighboring states. Since 1961, they have implemented this mission into their business plans. For more information about Standard Management Company, please visit standardmanagement.com.
