Washoe County announced this week that Dave Solaro is the new assistant county manager.
Solaro was director of community services and replaces Kevin Schiller, who became assistant county manager of Clark County.
“This reorganization includes the addition of a third assistant county manager and the reclassification of the current director of community services, Dave Solaro to that assistant county manager position, as well as the elimination of the management services director position,” said County Manager John Slaughter.
County Commission Chair Bob Lucey praised Solaro’s work.
“I want to thank Dave for his commitment to take on multiple tasks, and I would like to thank our County Manager John Slaughter for this strategic move that will also be fiscally sound for our taxpayers,” he said.
Solaro has been with the county for 16 years. He has been director of community services, division director of operations, acting public works director, and assistant public works director-facilities.
“I am truly humbled to be named Assistant County Manager,” said Solaro. “It is a great responsibility to serve the community that I love and continue to facilitate the great work we do.”
Solaro has a Bachelor of Architecture, Bachelor of Science, and a Professional Construction Management degree, and is a Licensed Architect and a Professional Civil Engineer in the state of Nevada.
