Underway at UNR: Free Concerts on the Quad, Free Movies at The Joe

The University of Nevada, Reno and Nevada Alumni Association kick off the annual Summer Concert on the Quad series this week, which includes complementary watermelon.

Concerts are scheduled Wednesdays from 6 to 8 p.m. on the following dates:

July 5: Jelly Bread
July 12: The Novelists
July 19: Tyler Stafford
July 26: Beatles Flashback
Aug. 2: Westwind
Aug. 9: Tim Snider and Milton Merlos

Also in progress are movie nights, which include free popcorn, Tuesdays on the Joe Crowley Student Union lawn. Shows are subject to change but are scheduled to start at 9 p.m. on the following dates:

July 11: “How to be a Latin Lover”
July 18: “The Fate of the Furious”
July 25: “The Circle”
Aug. 1: “Everything, Everything”
Aug. 8: “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales”
Aug. 15: “Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 2”
