The Morris Burner Hostel is facing several challenges.

What used to be a transient hotel in the midst of one of the worst parts of town has been transformed into a Burning Man hostel thanks to one man’s vision. Jim Gibson bought the hotel and took on a project that very few would even consider.

A run-down hotel in the middle of a very undesirable part of town is just what the Morris Hotel was when Jim purchased the hotel and now the Morris Burner Hostel is a shining star in an upcoming part of Reno’s Redevelopment.

I sat down with Jim and talked about the struggles with licensing, street development, and more.
