Racers from the annual event, Tour De Nez in Santa hats? Yes, that is correct. On Saturday, December 17, at 5 P.M. join the fun as these riders spread the holiday cheer. Tour de Nez is partnering with Catholic Charities of Northern Nevada & The St. Vincent’s Programs to collect toys for their Operation Stocking Stuffer holiday campaign, at Hub Coffee Roasters on Riverside Drive.

“We hope you will join us for a Christmas tree lighting and gift collection to really get in the holiday spirit! Hub Coffee Roasters and Dorinda’s Chocolates will be offering warm drinks and sweet treats to keep you cozy, while racers from our annual Tour De Nez event will be in Santa hats collecting toy donations,” said Bubba Melcher, Executive Director of Tour De Nez.

If you can’t make the Tree Lighting festivities, you can still give back. Beginning Tuesday, December 6, collection bins will be located at the Hub and Dorinda’s Chocolates toy donations. Catholic Charities requests that the toys be unused, unwrapped and small enough to fit in a standard sized stocking.

“During the holiday season we know there are lots of people going without, especially children,” said Melcher. “We want to be able to spread the love and get the community involved with a fun way to give back. Plus who doesn’t love to see the looks on the children’s faces when you hand them over a new toy? Come on out and support this great nonprofit by bringing toys for local children in need.”
