RTC riders can now purchase their bus passes through a new smartphone app. Available on Android and iPhone devices, the Token Transit app allows riders to purchase passes with credit and debit cards.
Riders can then use their smartphone screens as a substitute for paper passes.
“The new technology will make it even easier to ride RTC transit services,” RTC Executive Director Lee Gibson said. “It used to be necessary to have exact change or to buy a pass online or at a ticket vending machine. Now you can buy a pass simply on your phone anywhere and anytime.”
The first purchase of a pass through the app is 50 percent off for a limited time.
